Jhansi (9 km.)
Kausumbhi It is the city of old Pratisthanpur, 9 km. Across Ganga. Places of interest, include Shiv Temple, Samudra Koop and the Hans Tirth Temple, Accessible by Road/Boat.

Arail (11 km.)
This is a religious centre with many temples, 11 km. Across Yamuna river. Accesible by Road, / Boat.

Shringverpur (40 km.)
The kingdom of Nishadraj (King of Boatmen), Shringverpur has a temple of Shringi Rishi, revealed from excavations. There is "Ram Chaura", where Lord Rama is said to have stayed overnight. Nishadraj has washed his feet, before taking the Lord in his boat.

Lakshagriha (45 km.)
Presently a big Mound, according to legends, it was originally made of lac to bur the Pandava brothers of the epic Mahabharata.

Kaushambi (60 km.)
The erstwhile capital of the Vatsa Kingdom, believed to have been ruled by King Udayan, Kaushambi, however, was also a great centre of Buddhism and Jainism. In fact, Lord Buddha is said to have belivered several discourses here. Ashokan column, Ghosita Ram Vihar, Syen Chiti and a ruined palace are some of the archaeological remains. Also there is a Digamber Jain Temple, renovated in 1919 AD. A PWD Rest House and Jain Dharamsala are available for stay.

Kara (69 km.)
The holy temple of Kara Devi (Shitalal Devi) on the banks of Ganga, lends this place its name. Once the Capital of Mughals, Kara's ruins extend 3.5 kilometers along Ganga. Kara Devi Temple. Samadhi of Sant Maluk Das, mound of Jai Chand's Fort, Jama Masjid, Ksheatrapal Bhairav Temple, Hanuman Temple, Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple, Khwaja Karak's Dargah and Shivala Maharishi Ashram are other attractions.

Sita Marhi (72 km.)
A sleepy village, Sita Marhi is where Sita stayed during exile at Sage Valmiki's Ashram. Lav and Kush, her two sons, were born here.

Chitrakoot (137 km.)
Closely associated with the exile of Lord Rama, Chitrakoot is the holy centre for Pilgrims through centuries. The places to visit include Kamadgiri, Ramghat, Jankikund, Hanuman Dhara, Gupt Godavari and Sati Ansuiya Ashram.
