Bhawanipatna, the district headquarters of Kalahandi, is an excellent base for visiting Patalganga particularly where a natural spring-revered as the Ganges by the local populace-converges into a lovely pool erected at the foot of the spring (114 km).

Yogimath is popular for its neolithic paintings carved on the rock surface depicting the domestication of animals (a bull, a calf and a man) and man's entry into agriculture. If you shout loudly, the nearby Risipiti mountains will respond with a clear echo (67 km).
