'Jampui Hil - 'the permanent seat of spring'

is situated at an altitude of about 3000' above the sea level and about 250 Km. away from Agartala, the capital of Tripura. In the eastern side of hill range lies Mizoram and in the southern part lies Chittagong hill tracts of Bangladesh. Jampui is famous for its charming landscape and bracing climate. The hill range consists of cluster of tribal villages and is the home for colourful Lushai and Reang tribal communities.

The excellent climatic condition, green forests, beautiful orange garden on both side of hill slopes, variety of floral tapestry including a large range of enchanting orchids, panoramic view points, adventurous awe-inspiring trekking routes, placid lakes with boating facility, hospitabk Mizo population and the meditative tranquility of nature makes it an ideal destination for which any tourist would yearn for. The neat and clean traditional wooden houses of the local inhabitants combined with greenary all around provide excellent opportunities for ecO'friendly tourism in this hill range.

It witnesses excellent climatic conditions and winter is the ideal season for visiting the Jampui hill when the orange trees on both sides of the hill-slopes are laden with very sweet crimson coloured variety of oranges. During November every year, the unique Orange festival is celebrated in the Jampui hill where a large number of tourists both domestic and foreign, participate and enjoy.

The rainy season is no less charming. During this season the hill is covered with floating clouds and it provides a rare experience for the tourists. The formation of clouds at the bottom of the hill range and its gradual ascendence from the bottom to the top slowly engulfing the whole hill range in its mystic lap is an experience to treasure.

The view of rising and setting sun from various view points in Jampui hill is a wonderful sight for the tourists. Tourists visiting the Jampui hill cant just afford to miss the view of sunset and sunrise. Various view points in the hill range provide excellent panaromic views of the vattey and villages of Mizoram. From the highest peak, Betalongchip, the Chittagong hill tracts, the Kanchanpur-Dasda Valley and other hill ranges of Tripura unfolds enigmatic scenic vista.

Boating facility in the Sabual village of the hill range has been developed where other water sports facilities will also be provided shortly. A view point at Betalongchip is going to be constructed equipped with powerful telescopes from where tourists can have good and clear view of hill town of Aizawl, Chittagong hill tract, hill ranges of Tripura and Kanchanpur-Dasda Valley.
