This historic village lies 20 km west of Kohima. This village was known for its valour, as its residents had fought a pitched battle against the Britishers who came on an expedition to the Naga hills in Oct. 1879. The terraced fields on the slopes near the village produces over 20 strains of paddy at different elevations and presents a delightful sight.

The village is also noted for its Agro-foresty practices, judicious use of natural resources and their conservation. It is also famous for its arts and crafts. You can experience the typical rustic life at close quarters by being a guest in one of the local homes.
